Manantial de Fuencaliente (Orce)

At the foot of the Cerro de la Virgen, this natural spring has become one of the best-loved swimming spots in the Granada Altiplano. Its water flows at a constant temperature of around 21 ºC, thanks to the geothermal gradient, creating a curious inverse temperature sensation: in summer it can feel cool, while in winter it feels warm.

Lined with weeping willows and elms, the recreational area features a lawn, picnic spots, barbecues and a seasonal snack bar, and it’s a regular gathering spot for local families during the warmer months. Its most singular detail is the barbel that live in its waters, calmly sharing the space with bathers — a sight that especially delights the youngest visitors.
