Just 200 meters from the Alicún de las Torres Spa, this small canyon carved out by a tributary of the Fardes River hides a series of natural hot springs surrounded by nature, with no facilities or infrastructure.
The water, which is of mineral-medicinal origin, seeps out at various points along the stream and forms a series of terraced pools with decreasing temperatures: between 22 and 28 °C, depending on the distance from the source.
The very name “Alicún” comes from the Arabic al-liquq, meaning “crevice,” in reference to this geological fault from which water springs, surrounded by riparian vegetation that creates a small oasis in a semidesert landscape.
The area also has significant archaeological value: it is part of one of the routes recommended by the Gorafe Megalithic Interpretation Center, which connects La Raja with Chalcolithic-era dolmens and an ancient irrigation channel that may date back to the Paleolithic era.
