Fuencaliente Spring (Huéscar)

Located a couple of kilometers from the town center of Huéscar, this natural spring was transformed in the mid-20th century into a large summer swimming pool, the centerpiece of a recreational complex spanning more than 20,000 m² that includes a parking lot, tree-lined promenades, a lawn area, sports facilities, and a restaurant.

The water flows at a slightly warm temperature, around 18–19 °C, with a generous flow rate that can reach 500 liters per second, and shares the spotlight with the barbel and carp that inhabit its waters.

Beyond the baths, the site also has its own history: in the 16th century, Genoese merchants established major wool-washing facilities here, which contributed to the splendor of a city with a long tradition of livestock farming, where Segureño lamb has played a leading role since ancient times. The facility also features access ramps to both the lawn area and the pool, designed for people with limited mobility.
