The landscapes offered by this area allow us to understand the geological evolution of the entire Guadix region.
Located in Beas de Guadix, this hilltop is the perfect spot to enjoy excellent views of the deserts and “badlands” of northern Granada province. With the peaks of the Sierra Nevada in the background, from here you can see much of the Alhama River Valley, which encompasses all the towns located on the right bank of the Fardes River: Cortes y Graena, Beas, Marchal, and Purullena.
The landscapes found in this area offer insight into the geological evolution of the entire Guadix region: first, the limestone mountains of the Sierra de La Peza or Lugros in the highest elevations; second, the Camarate, the best-preserved forest in the Sierra Nevada, which is painted in a thousand colors in the fall; and, finally, the badlands formed by the erosion of clay, with the Cárcavas de Marchal—designated a Natural Monument—as one of their most notable features.
The access to the viewpoint must be done on foot, taking an existing track at the entrance of Beas de Guadix and that, after an ascending walk of one kilometer, leads the walker to the End of the World.
