Cave Houses, living underground with all the comforts of home
No one knows for sure who was the first picaors – pickmasters – were, but through ingenuity and survival instinct they found that living underground was a good way to live in harmony with nature and the landscape.
So, pickaxe in hand, they began to excavate what would become the first cave house in our territory, in the clay soil of a hillside. That was over 500 years ago.
And what were originally homes for humble families have now become exclusive and sought-after sustainable accommodation.
This is because the interior temperature remains constant all year round at between 18ºC and 23ºC – which not only keeps you comfortable, but also saves a lot of energy
Or because they are, by their very nature, houses with unique designs, dug out over time. They are always adapted to the needs of each family, the relief and the direction of the sun
A sun that shines through the skylights of these unique houses, creating a wonderfully warm atmosphere inside.
Note: don’t look for two identical Cave Houses, you won’t find them.
